Like many across Austin, we are saddened by the loss of Malin at Pease Park.

This artwork brought joy, curiosity, and connection to countless children, families, residents, and visitors. For many, Malin became more than an art installation — it became part of Austin’s shared memories and cultural landscape.

We are grateful to everyone who helped bring this experience to the community and to those who cared for it over the years. Today, we join the community in reflecting on this loss and celebrating the joy Malin brought to so many.
