Call Directions Website

Foothills Children's Advocacy Center Foothills is a one-stop child-friendly facility for children and families to help reduce trauma and begin healing.

We walk alongside children and their families to promote healing when there are concerns of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, human trafficking, or those who have witnessed violence. When a report of abuse or victimization is submitted to Law Enforcement or the Department of Social Services, they schedule an appointment for the child with a Forensic Interviewer at Foothills CAC. Children also receive forensic medical exams and mental health counseling at Foothills, where Family Advocates assist caregivers.

We are incredibly proud of our team member, Dr. Jeanne Parrish (pictured on the left), who was honored with the “Champions of Victims and Survivors” Award by Madison County Victim Witness at last night’s Domestic Violence Awareness event.

This well-deserved recognition celebrates Jeanne’s dedication to supporting and advocating for victims and survivors. We are so fortunate to have her on our team!

Congratulations, Jeanne! 💜

Mission Moment...Wednesday!

When a child experiences abuse, the response they receive matters.
We bring together the professionals involved in child abuse investigations so children and families can receive coordinated, compassionate care in one child-focused setting.

One story. One coordinated response. A path toward healing.

And every service we provide comes at no cost to families.

💙 Healing starts here.

Can we help James reach his goal (and make that family reveal worth it)?

Support James, Piedmont CASA - Charlottesville and Foothills and join the fun at myevent.com/m4kcville. Register by November 3rd!

Last week, Foothills took to the classroom!

Multidisciplinary teams from across Virginia gathered for The Sound of Silence, a week-long child abuse training sponsored by the Commonwealth’s Attorneys’ Services Council (CASC).

We were proud to have three members of the Foothills team serving on this year’s faculty.

Briana Valentino, Program Director, presented on The Impact of Trauma: The Child, the Caregiver & the Professional and Preparing for the Forensic Interview: Introduction of Evidence.

CT Moulton, Director of MDT Services, led sessions on Working as a Team: Beginning the Investigation, Corroboration in Child Abuse Cases and Suspect Interrogation.

Dr. Jen Andrews, Medical Director for Foothills, led three medical sessions, including training on abusive head trauma, bringing an important medical perspective to the multidisciplinary response to child abuse.

One of the things that makes The Sound of Silence so valuable is that CASC supports CPS professionals, law enforcement and prosecutors in attending together, giving multidisciplinary teams the opportunity to learn side by side and strengthen the collaboration they bring back to their communities.

And because every intensive week of training needs a couple of very good dogs, Rain, CT’s dog, and Hudson from the Harrisonburg Police Department made an appearance too. 🐾💙
