The 2026 Rocky Mountains Regional Summit was a success!

Thank you to all the incredible partners who joined us from across the Four Corners, Western Slope, and San Luis Valley for a day of learning, collaboration, and connection.

With the theme “We Rise Together,” the summit brought dozens of partners together to share knowledge, learn from one another’s expertise, and explore new ways to strengthen rural food access across our network.

A huge thank-you to all our partners for being part of such a meaningful day and to our amazing Care and Share staff who worked hard to make this summit possible. We are so proud of everyone who helped bring this event to life!

When we share our knowledge, strengthen our partnerships, and work together, we can better serve our neighbors and build stronger, more food-secure communities.

SNAP Myth vs. Fact: College Students

MYTH: I’m a college student, so I can’t qualify for SNAP.

FACT: College students may qualify for SNAP! You must meet standard income requirements and, if enrolled at least half-time, meet at least one special student exemption.

Don’t assume you’re not eligible. If you need help understanding SNAP eligibility or applying for benefits, call our SNAP Hotline at 719-666-3849.

We're proud to support Empty Stocking Fund partner agency, National Alliance on Mental Illness - Colorado Springs (NAMI - CS) which provides free education, support groups and advocacy programs right here in our community.

At Care and Share Food Bank, we see firsthand how food insecurity affects individuals and families in our communities. We’re proud to serve more than 366,000 neighbors through 305 partner agencies, helping provide access to more than 18 million meals.

This conversation highlights the importance of addressing hunger, strengthening our communities, and working together to ensure everyone has access to the nutritious food they need.
