City of Fort Worth Pension Plan, Public Pension Plan, Retirement Fund, Defined Benefit Plan Original membership of the fund was 1,209.

The Fort Worth Employees' Retirement Fund was created by an ordinance approved and adopted by City Council September 12, 1945. Today, membership has grown to more than 9,000. Today, 13 members make up the Retirement Fund Board and a 19- member staff manages the daily operations and administration of the fund. Regular board meetings are held every fourth Wednesday of the month in the Retirement Office board room located at 3801 Hulen Street, Suite 101, Fort Worth, TX 76107. Meetings are open to the fund's membership.

The Retirement Fund Board of Trustees began a new term this month. Of the board’s 13 trustees, seven are elected by the members, serving two-year terms. Elections are staggered so that not all the seats are up for re-election at the same time. At the September 23 board meeting, Lloyd Cook was elected chair, and Andrea Wright was re-elected vice chair. We thank Lloyd, Andrea, and all the trustees for their continued service to the Fund. Remember: Your retirement benefit is based on a formula, NOT on your pension contributions. The formula includes your years of service, a multiplier, and an average of your highest years of earnings.
