What an incredible day of organizing and connecting with voters across Gaston County!

Today, volunteers joined Jessica Maria Moreno, candidate for Gaston County Commissioner, to knock doors and have meaningful conversations with our neighbors about the issues that matter most: affordable housing, smart growth, and transparent budgeting.

A special thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy. We were excited to hear Annie share that our team canvassed more than anywhere else in North Carolina today! That is a testament to the dedication, passion, and hard work of our volunteers and supporters.

Workers deserve fair wages, safe workplaces, and the freedom to stand together for better opportunities. The PRO Act is about protecting workers’ rights and strengthening the ability of working families to have a voice on the job.

It’s time for Congress to act and put workers first.

Right-to-work laws did not emerge in a political vacuum. Their history is deeply connected to efforts to weaken organized labor and collective bargaining across the South during the Jim Crow era.

Understanding labor history matters because it still impacts wages, benefits, workplace protections, and workers’ rights today, including here in North Carolina.
