to our America Recycles Day events!

First, we had the opportunity to table at Wright Plaza with .ecu and .eco.pirates throughout the day to meet students, faculty, and staff, and educate them on recycling!

Then we had a fun craft while ECU's Recycling and Waste Reduction Coordinator, our Waste Reduction Intern, and the president of Eco-Pirates presented on recycling and other methods of waste reduction in the evening.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which means its the perfect time to talk about eco-anxiety. Worrying about the future is perfectly valid, but its important that we manage and channel those anxieties into something useful 🌱.

Let's all give a big congratulations to John Gill for getting the Sustainability Award at this year's University Service Awards 🥳👏! Mr. Gill is both the director of Grounds and ECU's Landscape Architect. Have a favorite green space on campus? You can thank him and his team for always keeping it pristine and beautiful 🌳🌼.

ECU Sustainability is wishing everyone a Happy Earth Day 🌍! The theme this year is "Our Power, Our Planet"; we hope each one of you knows how powerful you are when it comes to making meaningful change in our communities. Together, we can all build a more sustainable future.

And that's another successful Earth Day Festival🌍! Thanks to everyone who came out and engaged with our lovely campus and community groups, we hope you had fun and maybe even learned a thing or two. We plan to do it all again next year, but in the meantime keep an eye out for the rest of our Earth Month activities🌱😊
