Another great and eventful meeting with the Greenville Noon Rotary today!

We were honored to award two well-deserved scholarships to twin sisters, Madison and Carson Cornwell. Congratulations to both of these outstanding young women! We wish you all the best as you begin this exciting new chapter and know you’ll continue to do great things!

We were also excited to welcome two new members to our Rotary family—Tammy Forrester and Donnell Marie Austin. We’re thrilled to have you join us and look forward to serving our community together!

We also had the pleasure of hearing from Greenville Mayor PJ Connelly, who shared updates on the exciting growth and positive momentum happening throughout our community. From new development and infrastructure improvements to continued investment in Greenville’s future, it was encouraging to hear about the opportunities that lie ahead for our city.

Meetings like today’s are a great reminder of what Rotary is all about—investing in our future, welcoming new leaders, and working together to make our community even stronger.

Today we awarded Mrs. Ashley Piner with the 2026 Barry Gaskins Award.

This annual award is given by the Noon Rotary Club to a Pitt County Schools employee who exemplifies community service and educational excellence. Named for Barry Gaskins, a longtime Rotary supporter and Pitt County Schools employee, whose life was cut short.

The award reflects the club's strategic alignment with Rotary International's focus on promoting education as one of its six areas of service.

Dr. Leslie Hayes, Chicod School Principal, nominated Mrs. Piner, Elementary Literacy Specialist. Her nomination included ⬇️

Mrs. Piner was joined by her husband Rex and daughter Chloe. Assistant Principal Aaron Speas as also in attendance to celebrate Mrs. Piner.

Today at Greenville Noon Rotary, we had the privilege of celebrating the next generation of leaders and learning more about the exciting things happening in our community.

Congratulations to Nathan Randolph on receiving a Rotary scholarship! We are proud to support outstanding students like Nathan as they take the next step in their educational journey and work toward making a positive impact in the future.

We also enjoyed hearing from Don Octigan and his team with Greenville Recreation & Parks. They shared updates on the many programs, facilities, and initiatives that continue to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors throughout our community. It’s exciting to see the investment being made in recreation, sports, and community engagement across Greenville.

Thank you to our speakers and guests for an informative and inspiring meeting. Rotary is all about service above self, supporting our youth, and strengthening the communities we call home.

Today at the Greenville Noon Rotary Club, we had the pleasure of hearing from Dr. Calvin Mercer, who shared valuable insights on the rapidly evolving world of Artificial Intelligence. His presentation sparked great discussion about how AI is shaping our workplaces, communities, and everyday lives.

We were also honored to recognize Taylor Eatman, a graduating senior from J.H. Rose High School, as the recipient of a $1,500 Greenville Noon Rotary Scholarship. Taylor will be attending University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this fall to study Political Science.

Congratulations, Taylor! We are proud to support the next generation of leaders and wish you great success as you begin this exciting new chapter.

Hats off to the 18 teams that made it to today’s Greenville Rotary Clubs Golf Tournament. ⛳️

We teed off at 1pm, shotgun style. It’s a par-fect day, and everyone is having a ball.

Today at Greenville Noon Rotary, we had the pleasure of hearing from Andrew Schmidt and Dan Octigan with Play Greenville NC Sports.

They shared exciting updates on the future of sports tourism in Greenville and the many projects being planned to enhance our community’s athletic facilities and sports complexes. Their presentation highlighted how investments in sports infrastructure can attract tournaments, boost tourism, support local businesses, and create new opportunities for economic growth throughout our area.

It is exciting to see the vision and momentum behind making Greenville a premier destination for youth and amateur sports. Thank you, Andrew and Dan, for sharing your insight and for all you are doing to help grow our community!

Great day at Rotary! Thanks to Tammy Forrester with the American Red Cross. She informed us of all the wonderful support the Red Cross does in our community other than “Blood & Flood” support.

We also were able to present Grady Mullins with a Paul Harris.

Today’s meeting was a great reminder of what Rotary International is all about—service, community, and connection. We heard from our president on the heart behind Rotary, followed by insights from Bryant Kittrell on the impact of everyone’s contributions over the years.

We wrapped things up on a fun note with Jack sharing some creative limericks highlighting Rotary’s history—definitely a memorable way to bring it all together!

Proud to be part of a group that continues to make a difference locally and beyond. 💙

Last night our Rotary Club decided to step outside of our normal events and host a Murder Mystery Dinner! With the help of the wonderful actors at Unique Leigh Entertaining and catering by Different Bites Catering, we had a killer time! 🔪

The goal of the evening was to bring awareness to all 3 Greenville Rotary Clubs! We shared why Rotary is important to this community and some of the wonderful things the clubs do to support locally and globally!

Not only did we share about Rotary, but we had a blast!!! The show was intriguing, funny, suspenseful, interactive and we solved the murder!!!!
