Summer is the perfect time to explore local playgrounds. Just remember a few quick tips to help keep kids safe while they play.
• Check that equipment isn’t too hot before little hands and feet climb on.
• Look for sturdy, well-maintained equipment and soft landing surfaces.
• Keep an eye on kids as they climb, slide, and swing.
• Make sure shoes are secure and laces tied to prevent trips and falls.
• Bring water and take shade breaks to avoid overheating.

Trauma impacts individuals, families, and communities across Indiana. This , IDOH encourages you to learn key injury risks, take steps to prevent harm, and connect with local resources that support recovery and safety. Small actions can make a big difference.
