Yesterday, Angela Strain, WeCareJax Executive Director, joined partners from across Florida at the Capitol to thank legislators for their ongoing support to ensure healthcare for all our uninsured neighbors!
Together, the Florida Association of Free & Charitable Clinics shared the impact of this support in FY25:
• 220,294 patients served
• More than 500,000 patient visits
• $242 million in care delivered statewide
• Every $1 invested generates $19 in life-saving care
We’re proud to stand alongside our partners to demonstrate how collaboration strengthens communities and helps our neighbors stay healthy — regardless of their ability to pay.

✨ December Gratitude ✨
This month reminded us just how powerful community care can be:
💙 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. donated a basket filled with diabetes essentials for a newly diagnosed patient—offering both practical support and reassurance during an overwhelming time.
🍪 MASS Clinic stopped by with goodies for our staff—we’re so grateful for our primary care partners who walk alongside us every day.
🧣 We were deeply moved by donations of chemo beanies, scarves, and warm accessories from Mujer de Campo and Playing Hookie Group, each accompanied by handwritten notes of encouragement. One read: “This beanie is more than yarn; it’s a warm reminder that you are loved, cherished, and never forgotten.” These will bring comfort to cancer patients when it’s needed most.
🩹 A local company closing its doors generously donated a HUGE supply of wound care items—an incredible gift that will directly support our patients.
🎁 And finally, we celebrated our WeCareJax team with our annual holiday party—complete with Secret Santa, a glass fusing class, and delicious Thai food!
We are endlessly grateful for everyone who shows up in big and small ways for our uninsured neighbors in need. 💛
📌 Reminder: WeCareJax and JaxCareConnect will be closed December 23–26 and January 1–2 to rest, recharge, and enjoy the holiday season.
Wishing you all happy holidays and a joyful New Year! ✨

Thanks to you, Thanksgiving deliveries are out to all patients currently undergoing cancer treatment, providing everything needed to enjoy a meaningful holiday meal—including non-perishables, fresh produce, and a gift card for additional items that will make their holiday special. Patients in survivorship visited the pantry too, choosing items that work best for their families. These visits also provide check-ins with their RN Case Manager and Community Health Worker - helping ensure continuity of care and ongoing healing.
We are incredibly grateful to be able to offer the wrap-around support that eases the burden for patients during treatment and beyond. Thank you, Baptist Health Jacksonville, The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, and everyone who has supported nutrition for patients during 2025. With you, the work continues!
In observance of the holiday, WeCareJax and JaxCareConnect will be closed Thursday and Friday so staff can spend time with their loved ones. Wishing you a safe and healthy holiday! 🍂🍽️
