In Mr. Graham’s 6th grade math class, students built paper roller coasters to apply math and engineering concepts in a fun, hands-on way. Students used measurement, angles, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills while designing tracks that could successfully carry a marble from start to finish. The project encouraged creativity, teamwork, and perseverance while showing how math is used in real-world situations.

The Franklin L. Williams Middle School 7 family would like to pause to remember our brave heroes in uniform who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Memorial Day began after the Civil War, and today honors all American military personnel who have died in conflict. Our thoughts are with the family and friends who grieve their loss and we are so grateful for our freedom. 🇺🇸

On behalf of the Shark Family, we would like to congratulate for receiving the Presidential Medallion at the NJCU Commencement Ceremony this morning. It’s no secret here at MS 7 that Suraj is dedicated to serving Jersey City’s youth. Here at our school, his projects and initiatives have made a significant impact on our students for several years. We are happy to see him being recognized for his hard work, dedication and his support with this medallion. Congratulations Suraj! We are proud of you!

As the temperatures rise, we want to share the weather-based uniform adjustments recently announced by Superintendent Norma Fernadez. Once the temperature has been above 75 for 3 consecutive days, uniform-style shorts may be worn. Khaki and black are the only permitted colors. Students should not wear athletic shorts or jeans shorts. No ripped shorts allowed. Students should continue to wear sneakers, as flip-flops, slides and Crocs are still not allowed. We thank you for your cooperation with this matter. Stay cool and stay hydrated!
