In observance of Juneteenth, Cross-Lines will be closed on Friday, June 19th.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of chattel slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, contributions, and achievements of Black Americans throughout our nation's history. It is a day of reflection, education, celebration, and a reminder of the ongoing pursuit of equity and opportunity for all.

We encourage our community to take time to learn about the significance of this important day and join us in honoring its legacy. ❤️💛💚

Thank you to our friends at for sponsoring and preparing a special Saturday lunch at the Cross-Lines Community Kitchen this past weekend!

Our guests enjoyed a delicious and nutritious meal served by KU Med students, received preventative health screenings from Mercy and Truth Healthcare Ministry, accessed community resources from Healthy Blue, United Healthcare, and Wyandot Behavioral Health Network, and took home fresh produce from Kanbe's Markets as well as treat bags with summer essentials donated by Christ Church Anglican.

Thanks to all of our community partners for their support! 💚

In April, our community worked together to make a real impact.

📦 1,619 Market visits helped families access nutritious food.
🍽️ 5,295 meals were served through our Kitchen.
🤝 78 outreach contacts connected neighbors with critical resources.
🏠 3 individuals moved from homelessness into housing.
💚 1,092 volunteer hours were invested in serving others.
💰 That volunteer service represents an incredible labor value of $34,714.

Every meal served, every conversation, every hour volunteered, and every dollar invested helps create a stronger, more compassionate community.

Thank you to our volunteers, donors, partners, and supporters for making this work possible. Together, we're meeting immediate needs while creating pathways to stability and hope

We believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. This month, we celebrate the LGBTQIA+ members of our community and reaffirm our commitment to creating a welcoming space for all. Everyone who walks through our doors deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported exactly as they are.

As we celebrate Pride Month, we honor the courage, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQIA+ individuals and families in Kansas City and beyond.

Together, we can build a community where everyone has access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to thrive.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at Cross-Lines! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Legacy Breakfast!☀️ It was a wonderful morning celebrating the incredible supporters, volunteers, awardees, and community partners who make the mission of Cross-Lines possible every day.

We are especially grateful to our guest speaker, Matthew Kleinmann of Vibrant Health, for sharing such meaningful reflections on the long history of Cross-Lines and the importance of kindness, compassion, and working together to create a brighter future for all.

The impact of this community continues far beyond one morning together. If you were unable to give at the event, there’s still time! Our donation match remains active through the end of May, meaning your gift can go twice as far in supporting neighbors in need.

Thank you for being part of the Cross-Lines community! 💚

At Cross-Lines, we believe in the power of hope. Every day, we walk alongside our neighbors facing poverty, offering more than just food and shelter. We offer dignity, support, and the belief that a brighter future is always within reach.

And today, your generosity can go even further. Thanks to a special matching gift from a generous supporter, every dollar you donate this week will be doubled, helping twice as many people take their next step toward stability and hope. Let’s make a difference, together.

What happens when you mix a little friendly competition with a lot of generosity? Incredible impact. 💥

A huge thank you to Knit-Rite for an amazing food drive and for raising over $1,500 through their team “Food Fight” competition in support of Cross-Lines!

Their team brought creativity and energy to every step by dividing into six departments, assigning point values to needed items, tracking every donation, and keeping the excitement high with leaderboard updates along the way. With just one rule (“don’t steal from other teams” 😉), they let the spirit of competition and teamwork take over, and it paid off in a BIG way.

Because of Knit-Rite’s efforts, our shelves are fuller, and our community is stronger. We’re so grateful for partners who find fun, engaging ways to make a real difference.

Thank you, Knit-Rite team! 👏💚
