Proud of Elecia Miller and our collaboration with Lawrence Sports Alliance

!

Last week, Elecia Miller of the Mayor's Health Task Force of Lawrence represented the City and the Lawrence Sports Alliance (LSA) on the "Rise Up MASS" panel at Aspen Institute Sports & Society Project Play Summit, alongside 875 youth sports advocates, nonprofit leaders, and others. She brought great insight and energy to the panel discussion.

Why are we rising? Collaboration.

Elecia shared how powerful it can be when organizations start building together. She highlighted opportunities created through partnerships between LSA, its member sports groups, the City's Healthy Active Living Workgroup, and the Lawrence Recreation Department. For this panel, she spotlighted efforts making a real difference on the ground, including "Champion Her Game," that's improving sports access and equity for girls across Lawrence, and how Mass in Motion through Safe Routes to Schools is helping kids not only get to school safely, but also reach parks, fields, and recreational spaces in their neighborhoods!

One of our favorite takeaways: when the right people are at the table, and we align our skills with our shared passions, we can accomplish so much more together. And yes, she had a room of 100+ people laughing while delivering that message, too. 😄

Thank you, Elecia, for representing the City and LSA so well! 💙⚽🏀🏈⚾🎾🏐🏉🎱🏓🏸🥊🏆

A look back at our past *Salud Mental* event with Dra. Alexandra Hichez

This moment reminds us that mental health awareness is not just for one day or one event. It’s something we should continue to talk about, learn about, and support every day.

Let’s keep the conversation going, check in on one another, and continue building a community that supports mental wellness.
