On Friday, our campus was buzzing with rhythm, color, and community spirit for our Cultural Arts Festival. 🐅🎨 We are so incredibly proud of all our Tigers who made this celebration so special!

Here’s a look back at our amazing day:
Morning Dance Festival: Our talented
Tigers took the stage and blew us away with beautiful presentations, sharing dances and traditions from all around the world! 💃🏽🕺🏿

Art Gallery: The creativity was on full display! Our Tigers shared their stunning, original art pieces with the community in a beautiful exhibition. 🖼️🐯

After-School Fun: The celebration continued past the bell! Families and students packed the art booths to create hands-on masterpieces—making custom masks, bracelets, mandalas, and abstract art. 🎨✂️

Dance Workshop: Over in the auditorium, the energy was electric as students and parents jumped into an interactive dance workshop to wrap up the day! 🎶

Thank you to all the families, staff, and community members who joined us, supported our students, and dressed up in cultural attire. Events like this remind us how beautiful and diverse our school community truly is! ❤️

Roar for a fantastic Friday! 🐅✨

Our Kinder Tigers had an absolutely unforgettable day of place-based learning and exploration at the Kidspace Children’s Museum! From hands-on science discoveries to unleashing their inner artists, our little learners proved that the world is their classroom.

By stepping outside the school walls, our Tigers engaged in powerful STEAM integration, connecting real-world experiences directly to our classroom standards.

We are so proud of our independent, curious thinkers. Check out these smiles from our big museum adventure! 👇

🌊🔬 Plasencia STEAM Magnet 4th Graders Make a Splash at Malibu Lagoon! 🔬🌊

Last Friday, our amazing 4th graders swapped the classroom for the coastline for an incredible day of place-based learning! 🎒🌾

Our young scientists became field researchers for the day at the beautiful Malibu Lagoon, diving deep into investigations of local water quality and coastal sea life. From analyzing the unique ecosystem where the river meets the sea to spotting native birds and marine creatures, they put their STEAM skills to the test in the real world.

Seeing our students connect their classroom lessons to the environment right in our own backyard was truly inspiring. A huge thank you to our wonderful teachers, chaperones, and the experts who helped guide our adventure!

Check out some highlights from our day of discovery below! 👇📸

A Huge Thank You to Councilmember Hernández!

The 5th Grade Project Lead Program students would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Councilmember Eunisses Hernández for her generous sponsorship.
Because of your support in providing our transportation, we were able to experience a powerful, place-based field trip to The Museum of Tolerance.

What We Learned:

• The Power of History: Understanding the impact of our choices.

• Meaningful Action: How small steps lead to big changes.

• Becoming Upstanders: Developing the courage to stand up for others and speak out against injustice.

"The world needs upstanders, and thanks to Councilmember Hernández, we are ready to lead the way!"

With appreciation,
The 5th Grade Class & The Project Lead Team

What an incredible day of discovery and culture at the **LAUSD Region East STEAM Festival**! 🚀✨

Our school community truly shined today as we explored the future of innovation.

Our **2nd graders** dived into hands-on exhibits, sparking their curiosity for all things science and tech, while our **5th-grade robotics team** stepped up as leaders, hosting an interactive booth that wowed the crowds with their coding skills!

To top it all off, the vibrant energy of our **4th and 5th-grade Folklorico dancers** reminded us that the "Arts" in STEAM are the heartbeat of our heritage. 💃🕺

We are so proud of our students for representing our school with such creativity, intellect, and pride. Seeing our older students mentor the younger ones was the highlight of the day!

🎨 **A Week of Wonders: From the Stage to the Museum!** 🌟

Our Pre-K explorers and Special Needs students have had an incredible journey of creativity and discovery!

**Yesterday**, our CAP trip took us to the **Cayton Children’s Museum**, but that was just one part of our amazing adventure.

We are so proud of our students who participated in the **Very Special Arts Festival at The Music Center**. It was a day filled with joy, expression, and deep sensory engagement. Our students didn't just watch—they became part of the art:

* **Rhythmic Connection:** Participating in an inclusive **drum circle**, feeling the vibrations and keeping the beat together.
* **Fluid Movement:** Dancing with **vibrant ribbons**, exploring personal space and motion.
* **Creative Hands:** Engaging in hands-on **art activities** designed for all abilities.
* **Inspired Watching:** Taking in two **amazing performances** that sparked imagination.

# # # 💡 Sensory & Standards
Both the museum visit and the festival focused on rich **sensory discovery**—from the tactile crunch of sand pits to the auditory power of the drums. These experiences directly support **VAPA Standard PK.MA:Cr1**: *Explore and discover the attributes of various materials and equipment in the process of creating media arts.* By experimenting with light, sound, and movement, our artists are building a foundation for a lifetime of creative confidence.
