Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche clashed with Rep. Glenn Ivey during a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing in Washington over the limits of presidential pardon powers.
After Blanche said the president’s pardon decisions are protected under the Constitution, Ivey pushed back, arguing the Constitution does not allow pardons to be exchanged for payments or bribery.
The exchange took place during a Justice Department oversight hearing held at the Rayburn House Office Building on June 2.
