Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not just a moment in our history—it is a responsibility we carry forward every day.

As we honor the generations who fought for liberation, we must also invest in the young people who are carrying that fight into the future. Their voices, ideas, and leadership are essential as we continue building a more just and equitable Philadelphia.

I’m proud of our Youth Commissioner for reminding us that the fight for freedom continues, and our youth are not just the future—they are leaders right now.

Quality of life starts right on our blocks. Today I’m teaming up with State Representative Burgos to put in the work and help keep our community clean. This summer, we’ll be going all around the district to clean with neighbors because lasting change happens when we come together.

📚 Literacy is one of the most powerful tools we have to defeat poverty, and I’m proud to support opportunities that bring books, learning, and community directly to our neighborhoods.

Join us this Saturday, June 20, for the first Free Hot Meals & Reading Skills gathering at Strawberry Mansion Learning Center. Families can enjoy a hot meal, access reading support, connect with guest speakers, and become part of a growing community centered on knowledge and opportunity.

A special thank you to Strawberry Mansion Learning Center for their continued dedication to our young people and for creating a space where learning can thrive.

🧹 A cleaner, safer, and more beautiful North Philly starts with all of us.

Join me and our community partners this Thursday as we come together to tackle litter, address illegal dumping concerns, maintain our shared spaces, and show pride in our neighborhood. Every bag of trash collected and every block cleaned makes a difference.

I hope to see residents, volunteers, and neighbors out as we work together to keep the 5th District clean and green. 💚
