The Phoenix CERT program has trained over 1,800 citizens. CERT training is meant to promote a partnership between emergency services and citizens.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program helps train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. Thursday, March 19 – Sunday, March 22.

For public safety, hiking is strongly discouraged on all City of Phoenix trails during Extreme Heat Warnings. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the following trails are restricted:

🚫 Camelback Mountain: Echo Canyon & Cholla
🚫 Piestewa Peak: Summit Trail & connected trails
🚫 South Mountain: Holbert, Mormon, Hau’Pal Loop, and National Trail access from Pima Canyon
