City firemen have been testing hydrants across the city over the last month. FF.Flynn and FF.Ineson were detailed to test several and found this one. The issues have been addressed and the hydrant is back in service.
Engine 2 G3 delivered a healthy baby girl earlier this week. Both mom and baby are healthy and doing great.
Poughkeepsie Arlington and LaGrange Spec Ops Collapse team has been working a house fire with collapse in Ulster County since earlier today. Check back for updates.

RETIREMENT:
On April 27, 2026, Officer Michael Barbagallo retired after more than 30 years of service to the City of Poughkeepsie. Mike began his career with the Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department before transferring to the city. Through the course of his career, Mike served as a Crime Scene Technician and was formerly a member of the Emergency Services Unit. Mike was previously assigned to the Dutchess County Drug Task Force and Patrol Division but spent the majority of his career in Community Policing as a K9 Officer. Along with his previous partners, K9 Drago and K9 Falcone, Mike was a fixture in the community. Over the years, Mike and his partners were responsible for multiple arrests and assisted in multiple investigations all while helping to build connections in the community. Mike met weekly with elementary school children for “Cocoa with a Cop” and helped to lay a positive foundation for the relationships kids would later develop with the police department . On behalf of the City of Poughkeepsie PBA, best of luck of your well-deserved retirement!

April 15th we will be starting to test hydrants across the city. This could result in some dirty water in your neighborhood it’s advised you run your water before doing dishing and laundry. The areas we will be starting in are the lower north west corner of the city. Delafield St/Albany St/Mill St/Talmadge Ave/Gifford Ave/Washington St Taylor Ave is the areas we will be working in.
