Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when freedom finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas. As we celebrate this historic Freedom Day, we also acknowledge that the pursuit of equity, justice, and opportunity continues.

Greater Sacramento Urban League offices are closed today in honor of Juneteenth.
