City of Sacramento Councilmember of District 3 representing Natomas, Northgate, and Gardenland. These lessons helped shape her values and career path.

As the daughter of working-class parents Magdalena & Reginaldo, Karina witnessed firsthand the hard work and sacrifice needed to reach goals. As a result, Karina has become a tireless public servant who understands that even minor efforts can yield significant results. Actions like picking up the phone to call constituents, a new stop sign, a community event, or simple translation efforts can make

Sacramento officially announced its bid for Major League Baseball.

Baseball has been part of Sacramento’s story for 175 years, from the Solons to the River Cats we play ball at all levels.

With a 50 acre shovel-ready site, $1.8 billion in pledged public-private funding, and one of the largest underserved sports markets in America, Sacramento is ready.

When MLB is ready to expand, Sacramento is ready to compete.
Real momentum. Real fans. Real history.

Major League Baseball belongs in Sacramento. Not someday. Now.

I recently had the opportunity to attend the Food Literacy Fête hosted by Food Literacy Center here in Sacramento. It was such a great evening celebrating the incredible work being done to connect kids and families to healthy food, nutrition education, and hands on learning experiences.

Today was a major milestone for our community as we officially celebrated the grand re opening of Station 140, formerly Fire Station 15.

What started as conversations with neighbors about preserving the historic Streng Brothers architecture turned into a years long effort to bring new life and new services to this site. Today, Station 140 will serve as home to the Mobile Integrated Health unit, Street Overdose Response Team, Mobile Crisis Unit, and additional emergency response services that will support residents across Sacramento.
This project was made possible through Measure U funding and strong collaboration with the Sacramento Fire Department, Facilities Department, Measure U Commissioner Marbella Sala, and community members who helped shape this vision from the beginning.

Excited to see these doors officially open and this space serving our community once again!

Today, we came together to remember and honor the brave service members who gave their lives for our country.

Memorial Day is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy every day did not come without sacrifice. We owe so much to those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

We remember them today and every day.
