Edison Elementary School - Salt Lake City

Our 5th and 6th graders were simply AWESOME tonight at their Ballet West "I Can Do" performance! They worked hard all year, and it showed! Thanks to Ms. Alba, Mr. Cooper, Ms. Nemelka, and Mrs. Montalvo for all their work to support students through this learning opportunity. Go Eagles!

Dr. Marcella Gerstenberger has been the Assistant Principal at Edison Elementary for the past three years. She is thrilled to step into the role of Principal and continue working with the amazing staff, students, and families at Edison! As a school leader, Dr. Gerstenberger brings a strong background in literacy instruction and a focus on ensuring high-quality educational experiences for all students. Dr. Gerstenberger earned her doctorate in education leadership and policy from the University of Utah in 2021. She has also worked as an elementary literacy coach in Salt Lake City School District and has taught Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade. Originally from California, she has worked in schools in Boston, San Francisco, Denver, and Salt Lake City. Outside of school, she loves spending time with her husband and two kids, trail-running, and getting into the mountains. She will begin this new position July 1, 2026.

These students slayed for the months of February, March, and April: ❤️ let’s celebrate the students of the month for their incredible work towards their learning academically and socially.

Edison’s annual art night was an immersive experience. The students and Ms. Malloy have done a beautiful job! 🦋

Edison Elementary now provides a variety of after‑school enrichment clubs for our students 2025-2026. These clubs help students feel connected to their school community while developing practical skills they can carry into everyday life. All clubs are FREE. Reach out on parent square to the teacher if you are interested.
