He was a pillar of our Air Force…A leader among leaders…a national treasure and a patriot of unparalleled honor and dignity.

It is with heavy heart that I share the passing of our Fifth Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, Robert “Bob” Gaylor. He passed early this morning, at the age of 93.

When we talk about standing on the shoulders of giants, we are talking about CMSAF Gaylor. His passion for giving back to Airmen was exceeded only by his integrity and humility. Just seven days ago he hosted his “Wednesday with the Chief.” Our Airmen were never far from his mind.

I will miss our chats, his mentorship…and his friendship.

CMSAF #5 will be missed by all. Please, keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

From there, we’ve reached over 500+ people through inspirational sessions from powerful speakers including CMSgt Tijuana “TJ” Hannibal, Brigadier General Glen Martel, Major General Alfred Flowers, 5 CMSAF Robert Gaylor and Colonel (Dr) Aquilla Highsmith Tyler!
