SDCPOA member DPO Garcia was awarded the 2026 Peace Officer of the Year Award by the San Diego Police Officers Association for her heroic actions in assisting an injured bicyclist. Upon encountering the injured victim, DPO Garcia immediately rendered first aid and applied pressure to a serious wound using a rag from her vehicle. While other bystanders also assisted, one witness specifically credited DPO Garcia’s leadership and quick response as instrumental in helping the victim.

The SDCPOA proudly congratulates DPO Garcia on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her outstanding service, professionalism, and commitment to helping others.
