At AMR San Diego, our Community Education Team is always out in the community—teaching lifesaving skills where people gather.

Recently at Cyclovia Encinitas, while our crews provided ambulance standby services at no cost, our team connected with kids and families to teach Hands-Only CPR.

🫀 CPR saves lives—and immediate action can double or triple survival chances.

We’re proud to not only respond to emergencies, but help prevent them by building a community of lifesavers.

🚑 AMR San Diego | CPR & AED Awareness Week (June 1–7) ❤️

As part of National CPR & AED Awareness Week, our AMR San Diego Community Outreach Team teamed up with K**I News to show just how simple it is to use an AED and help save a life.

If someone collapses or isn’t breathing:
✅ Call 9-1-1 right away
✅ Have someone bring the AED (if available)
✅ Start chest compressions (push hard and fast in the center of the chest)
✅ When the AED arrives, turn it on and follow the voice instructions

That’s it. The AED will guide you step-by-step.

AEDs are made for everyday people—no medical training required. Acting quickly can make all the difference until first responders arrive.

The Cal-JAC Academy provides a unique pathway into careers in EMS and the Fire Service—combining hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world preparation to help individuals take the first step toward careers in EMS and fire.

In this segment, you’ll see our own EMT Jacob, a Cal-JAC San Diego graduate, alongside San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Captain Shanley, sharing how the program helped shape his journey and prepare him for the field. Stories like this highlight the impact of strong partnerships and meaningful training opportunities.

We’re proud to see graduates like Jacob making a difference in the communities we serve every day.

💙🚑 That’s a wrap for EMS Week 2026! 🚑💙

This year’s theme, “Improving Outcomes Together,” truly came to life throughout an unforgettable week of celebration, connection, and appreciation for our AMR San Diego family.

Monday started with a day in the park with a burger truck 🍔, coffee & pastries for our night crews ☕on Tuesday, Wings & Tots midweek 🍗🍟, ice cream and kettle corn on Thursday 🍦, Friday featured a retro cereal bar, pancakes, and breakfast burritos 🥣🌯 — and then we wrapped it all up with an incredible EMS Week Grand Finale BBQ on Saturday🔥

Our EMS Week finale featured tri-tip, brisket, burgers, all the sides, plus a full vendor market, games, music, gifts, face painting, caricatures, a 3D video booth, and so much more… what a week!!!

A great chance to connect, recharge, and celebrate the incredible people across our AMR San Diego team who make it all happen every day.
