For the last few months, SOMCAN and REP-SF have been conducting a research project on the housing needs of low-income people, immigrants, and people of color in San Francisco, and we’d like to share the results with you!

Reposted from Wilson Leung San Francisco designated the Mint Mall in SoMa as a historic landmark, recognizing its deep ties to the Filipino-American community as a cornerstone of SOMA Pilipinas — SF’s official Filipino Cultural Heritage District. The Board of Supervisors voted to approve in late July 2026.

Saving energy during a Flex Alert is easy—and it makes a real difference for your community! Flex Alerts usually last from 4-9 PM during heatwaves when energy demand surpasses supply. By reducing your energy use, you ease strain on the grid and help protect vulnerable neighbors like seniors and residents with disabilities. Here are some simple energy-saving tips: Before 4 PM: Pre-cool your home Use major appliances (dishwasher, laundry) Cover windows with blinds or drapes Between 4-9 PM: Delay using major appliances until after 9 PM Set your thermostat to 78 degrees or higher Sign up for Flex Alert notifications at energyupgradeca.org/flex-alert and be ready to help when the next alert is called.

Help keep California powered up in 3 steps. First, go to energyupgradeca.org/flex-alert and sign up for Flex Alert notifications to stay in the know. Second, reduce your energy use during a Flex Alert (typically from 4:00-9:00 p.m. during summer heatwaves). Third, these actions help ease strain on the grid and protect vulnerable neighbors like seniors and residents with disabilities. Every action counts. Together, we keep California powered up for what matters most.

San Francisco's minimum wage is now $19.61/hour (effective July 1, 2026)! Whether you're an employee or employer, make sure you're aware of the updated wage requirements and your rights.
