It is reminded that after 03/08/2026 the old-fashioned police identity card ceases to be valid as a travel document.

Therefore, the parties concerned should take the required steps to issue a Greek passport or issue a new type of police identity.

The request for a new type of police identity card can only be submitted to Greece (Greek Police), through the digital platform gov.gr ( https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/polites-kai-kathemerinoteta/stoikheia-polite-kai-tautopoietika-eggrapha/id ), while the request for a Greek passport can be submitted to the Consular Authorities on the spot.
