Voter Education Workshop | KACS

On Wednesday, October 21, KACS hosted a Voter Education Workshop at Bascom Community Center, welcoming 24 participants. Jennifer Kim, Election Specialist from the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters (ROV), provided valuable guidance on voter registration, vote-by-mail, early voting, and how to complete a ballot.

A key focus of the workshop was the importance of Korean-language voting resources and civic participation.Accessing election materials in Korean helps reduce language barriers and ensures that Korean American voters can make informed decisions and have their voices heard.

KACS remains committed to empowering our community with reliable information and encouraging active civic engagement. We sincerely thank Jennifer Kim for her informative presentation and everyone who joined us!

Early Childhood Parenting Workshop | KACS & KASEC

On October 16, KACS partnered with the Korean American Special Education Center (KASEC) to host a parenting workshop for parents and caregivers of young children.

Under the theme “Managing Difficult Emotions Wisely: Practical Strategies for Child Development,” Dr. James (Yun) Yeo (Ph.D., BCBA) shared valuable insights into children’s development, emotional expression, and challenging behaviors, along with practical parenting strategies and real-life examples.

The engaging discussion continued well beyond the scheduled time, as parents actively shared their parenting concerns and asked thoughtful questions, reflecting their strong interest in the topic.

We hope this workshop marks the beginning of continued opportunities for parent education and connections to community resources, supporting the healthy growth and well-being of both parents and children.

영유아 부모교육 세미나 | KACS & KASEC

지난 10월 16일, 케이센터(KACS)는 한미특수교육센터(KASEC)와 함께 영유아 자녀를 둔 부모와 보호자를 위한 부모교육 세미나를 개최했습니다.

‘불편한 감정, 현명한 조절 방법 – 자녀의 발달에 관한 실용적인 전략’을 주제로 윤여광 박사(Ph.D., BCBA)가 자녀의 발달 과정과 감정 표현, 도전적인 행동에 대한 이해를 돕고, 일상에서 실천할 수 있는 양육 전략을 실제 사례와 함께 나누었습니다.

특히 부모님들의 현실적인 양육 고민과 질문이 활발하게 이어지면서 예정된 시간을 훌쩍 넘길 만큼 높은 관심과 참여가 돋보였습니다.

이번 세미나가 일회성 만남에 그치지 않고, 지속적인 부모교육과 지역사회 자원 연계로 이어져 부모와 자녀가 함께 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 노력하겠습니다.

K-Health Summit 2026 | Connecting Generations, Building Healthier Communities 💙

On October 17, KACS brought together community members across generations at DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose for K-Health Summit 2026—a meaningful day of health, wellness, learning, and connection.

From youth to seniors, participants explored Mental Health, Relationship Health, Digital Health, and Career Healththrough keynote presentations, a panel Q&A, breakout sessions, and a community resource fair.

The Summit reminded us that healthier communities are built when we learn from one another, share resources, and strengthen connections across generations.

🎶 KACS Board Members Take the Stage at Davies Symphony Hall!

On August 16, the SF Master Chorale’s 37th Annual Concert was held at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco in celebration of the 81st anniversary of Korea’s Liberation Day.

Featuring more than 150 choir members and a 50-piece full orchestra, the concert presented a beautiful selection of Korean songs, followed by a powerful performance of Mozart’s Requiem in D Minor, K.626. More than 2,000 audience members filled the concert hall and celebrated the performers with a standing ovation.

We are especially proud that KACS Board Members Susan Kim and Michelle Demetrius took part in this remarkable performance as members of the choir! 👏

Their dedication to our community extends beyond their service at KACS. Seeing them share Korean culture and the beauty of music on such a prestigious stage was truly inspiring, and we are incredibly proud to have them as part of the KACS family. 💙

지난 8월 16일, 광복 81주년을 기념하여 샌프란시스코 데이비스 심포니홀에서 SF Master Chorale 제37회 정기연주회가 성황리에 개최되었습니다.

150여 명의 합창단원과 50명 규모의 풀 오케스트라가 함께한 이번 공연에서는 한국 가곡을 비롯해 모차르트의 Requiem in D Minor, K.626이 웅장하게 연주되었으며, 2,000여 명의 관객들이 공연장을 가득 메워 뜨거운 기립박수를 보냈습니다.

특히 이번 뜻깊은 무대에 KACS Board of Directors인 Susan Kim과 Michelle Demetrius가 합창단원으로 직접 참여하여 더욱 특별한 의미를 더했습니다. 👏
