Professional Firefighters in the Mehlville Community Since 1953 District boundaries were laid out to cover 47 square miles in South St. Louis County.

The volunteer firefighters proposed and organized a fire district in 1953, thereby having the power to collect taxes to support department operations. In 1969, forty-one firefighters joined together and petitioned the International Association of Fire

Today we remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Their courage gave us the freedoms we enjoy, the moments we share with family, and the lives we sometimes take for granted.

This Memorial Day, we honor the fallen, stand with their families, and remain forever grateful for their sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Last week, two of our members were officially promoted from the rank of Engineer to Captain.

As is a proud fire service tradition, fellow members from across our district and shop came together to support and congratulate them on this major milestone achievement in their fire service careers.

Please join us in congratulating Mehlville’s newest Captains — Captain Jon Stark and Captain Kory Snelson!

We thank them for their continued commitment, leadership, and service to our community, and we look forward to all they will accomplish in their new roles.

Several of our shop members were recognized this week at the fire district board meeting for a clinical save.

Through their efforts, a patient in cardiac arrest was successfully resuscitated and ultimately left the hospital neurologically intact and on their own two feet — the best possible outcome.

Keep up the great work, guys and gals!

Last week, our shop was recognized at the MDA Boot Camp in Omaha, Nebraska for our fundraising efforts toward such a meaningful cause. While we weren’t able to attend the event in person, we were honored yesterday when our MDA Account Manager stopped by the firehouse to present us with the award.

We want to sincerely thank our community for helping us get back on the board and supporting our collection efforts. Your generosity makes a real difference.

We’re looking forward to getting back out into the community this year and raising even more funds!

Car crashes into home in St. Louis County 04/08/2026

🚨 Earlier yesterday afternoon, crews responded to a vehicle that crashed into a home. Our crews worked quickly to secure the scene, stabilize the structure, and provide treatment and transport for the occupant.

Incidents like this are a good reminder to stay alert behind the wheel and always drive safely.

Great job by all personnel on a smooth and professional response.
