An ALDOT worker was injured Wednesday while performing routine roadside maintenance in Hale County.
The employee was operating a tractor mower along SR-69 north of Greensboro when the mower was struck by a tractor-trailer. The employee was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
“Our employees work hard every day to maintain our roadways, often in close proximity to traffic,” said Wallace McAdory III, ALDOT West Central Region Engineer. “We’re thankful our employee is expected to recover, and we encourage all motorists to use extra caution when approaching maintenance crews.”
ALDOT reminds motorists to remain alert when traveling near roadside work activities and to move over or slow down when approaching workers and equipment.
