On Thursdays, board member Dan Collopy brings McKenna's Legal Advocates to the Center, meeting with clients of our Day Program and Food Pantry to provide free legal advice, referrals, and representation.

This program, which operates at the four nonprofit service providers in D.C established by Fr. Horace McKenna S.J., is one of the many that allows us to honor the legacy of this great man and ensure that the work he started continues to be carried out.

Each week, the Father McKenna Center is privileged to receive fresh produce from the Franciscan Monastery Garden Guild to distribute in our Food Pantry.

Being able to offer local, freshly harvested fruits and vegetables to our clients sets the Center apart from other pantries, and we are grateful for the partnerships that help provide healthy meals to our DC community!

Last night, the Gonzaga Mothers Club and Gonzaga Father's Club offered Program Manager Laura Wister the chance to attend their joint dinner and share about the critical role Gonzaga parents play in the Center's Hypothermia Program.

As we draw close to the start of another winter, we are again grateful for support of the Mothers' and Fathers' Clubs at Gonzaga whose meals and hospitality provide the warmth to program participants in the cold months.

Today, the Center was delighted to welcome Nathaniel Harris, a Recovery Support Specialist at , who shared a bit about his recovery in this morning's Peace Circle.

Nathaniel's visit kicks off the beginning of a new partnership between SOME and the Father McKenna Center that will provide the Center's clients with access to recovery support specialists like Nathaniel who will provide group and individual support in the journey to sobriety. Additionally, this partnership will help coordinate access to SOME's substance use, mental health, and housing programs for guests at the Center.

We are looking forward to this exciting new beginning as we continue to deepen our partnership with SOME!

We are thrilled to announce that this Saturday's 10th annual Walk for McKenna was our most successful yet, raising over $200,000 to support our Day Program and Food Pantry!

We are so grateful for the over 400 of you who came out to walk in the steps of Fr. Horace McKenna, honoring his life and legacy of service that the Center continues to this day. It is the support from each and every member of our community that allows us to serve our neighbors amid a surge of demand; our success is not possible without you!
