This , Our Prince George’s Education team and AmeriCorps members wrapped up a successful school year supporting students at Buck Lodge William Wirt Middle School, and High Point High School through mentorship and enrichment, and Saturday Academy.

This spring, we launched Project ERASE Poverty programing through Saturday Academy in partnership with Latino Student Fund, Buck Lodge Middle School, and Prince George's County Public Schools which made possible by the ENOUGH Initiative.

From showcasing final projects with over 400 attendees to celebrating big wins—🎓 7 students earned $120K+ in scholarships, including 2 recipients of the Guaranteed Access award—we couldn’t be prouder!

to Good Neighbor Day 💙 On May 16, our LAYC community came together in partnership with Good Neighbor Day America and Love Has No Limits to celebrate connection, service, and the power of community.

From hands-on volunteer projects to fun, family-friendly activities, Good Neighbor Day was a reminder of what’s possible when we show up for one another and invest in our neighborhoods.

Thank you to AmeriCorps and everyone else who joined us and helped make the day so impactful. Together, we’re building stronger, more connected communities and creating brighter futures for the youth and families we serve. 🏘️✨

Join LAYC for Good Neighbor Day 2026—a nationwide service day event! 🎉 Come celebrate community, connection, and togetherness at our Good Neighbor Day on Saturday, May 16, 2026. This free, family‑friendly event is open to neighbors of all ages.

We’re seeking compassionate individuals and families willing to open their homes to youth experiencing homelessness or at risk of running away. If you have access to Metro or bus lines and a heart for helping others, we’d love to connect.

Through our Transitional Living and Host Homes Programs, we provide safe housing while supporting youth on their path toward family reunification and long‑term stability.

LAYC is excited to host a Community Baby Shower for the families we serve this Thursday, May 7 at 3:30 pm-6:30 pm! 💛 This special afternoon is designed to support growing families by creating a welcoming space for connection, learning, and celebration.

We welcome expecting parents, along with parents and caregivers with children ages 0–3.
Families can look forward to fun activities, helpful parenting information, and exciting prize giveaways to support them as they prepare for—or care for—their little ones.
