On May 8th, Jenn Trager, Program Manager for Seton Center and Bethany House, is rappelling the 14‑story Ross building in Salisbury, Maryland to support ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, and Employed) households in our community!

She’s joining dozens of local participants raising funds for families who are just one unexpected expense away from crisis.

This year's honoree is community leader and philanthropist, Stephen L. Hyde. Stephen is a devoted Catholic servant whose life reflects the mission of Catholic Charities through faith in action, generosity, and service to others. His decades of commitment to Catholic education, youth formation, and compassionate outreach have strengthened the Church locally and around the world.

The Monsignor Reese Award, created in 1989 in memory of Msgr. Thomas J. Reese, community activist and longtime director of Catholic Social Services, the forerunner of Catholic Charities, recognizes exemplary individuals who have demonstrated a deep commitment to promoting and restoring the well-being of people which is the Catholic Charities’ mission.

Catholic Charities and the Diocese of Wilmington have launched a diocesan-wide Food Pantry Program.

"This initiative is designed to keep parish and school-based food pantries consistently stocked, reduce food waste across the region and empower parishes and Catholic schools to more actively participate in addressing food insecurity throughout the entire state of Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore (including the nine counties of Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worcester)."
