The Bokmakierie (Telophorus zeylonus) is a striking southern African bushshrike. It is heavily associated with the Karoo, fynbos, and grasslands. These birds can often be seen perched on a branch, singing or hunting for insects on the ground or in the lower bushes at the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden
