🍎💛 Happy World Teachers' Day! 💛🍎

Today we're celebrating the amazing teachers at Surrey Downs Primary School!

Our teachers bring so much more than lessons to the classroom. They inspire, encourage, nurture and believe in our students every single day.

We are incredibly grateful for their dedication, passion and the care they show our children and school community.

💦☀️ Splish, Splash! Fun at Surrey Downs OSHC! ☀️💦

What a week of sunshine, water balloons, laughter and happy faces at our OSHC! 🎈💧

Our OSHC students have been busy filling their RISE Values token board, earning recognition for positive behaviour, kindness and great choices.

Just like during the school day, our OSHC educators celebrate students demonstrating our RISE Values, creating a wonderful connection between school and OSHC.

And when the board was full? The students got to choose their reward… WATER PLAY! 💦🎉

With the weather putting on a perfect show, the fun continued all week so everyone had a chance to join in. And our amazing educators? They were right in the middle of the action too! 😂

We love seeing student voice, positive relationships and our shared school values come to life in such a fun way.

💛 Great kids, wonderful educators and endless opportunities to play, connect and belong. What a fantastic place to be! 🌟

🦘🌿 Wild About Australian Wildlife! 🦜🐨

Our Year 1/2/3 students enjoyed a wonderful adventure at Humbug Scrub Wildlife Sanctuary, getting up close to some amazing Australian animals and birds!

Through a guided tour of the sanctuary, students explored native wildlife, their natural habitats and the importance of caring for and protecting our environment. 🌏💚

A highlight was learning from the incredibly passionate people who care for the sanctuary. Students also discovered the fascinating history of this special place, which has been dedicated to protecting wildlife for more than 121 years!

Experiences like these bring classroom learning to life, inspiring curiosity, empathy and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

💛 A huge thank you to Humbug Scrub Wildlife Sanctuary and its dedicated volunteers for sharing their knowledge, enthusiasm and love of wildlife with our young learners!

Learning beyond the classroom at its best! 🌿🦘✨

🏀🎾 Give It a Go! Discovering New Sporting Adventures! 🥍⚽

Sometimes all it takes is trying something new to discover a hidden passion! 🌟

Our Year 4/5 students had a fantastic time at the Come and Try Sports Day at Tilley Reserve, exploring everything from basketball and soccer to pickleball, squash, rugby league and lacrosse!

🥍 The surprise favourite? Lacrosse! A new experience for many and a great reminder of why stepping outside our comfort zones can be so rewarding.

Beyond the fun, students built confidence, resilience, teamwork and new skills, while proudly demonstrating our RISE values through their enthusiasm, sportsmanship and willingness to give everything a go.

💛 New experiences, new skills and maybe even a few new sporting passions! What a fantastic day of learning beyond the classroom!
