Many of the tasks our SES volunteers have completed recently could have been prevented through basic home maintenance. If the rain has eased off in your neighbourhood, ask yourself: Should I (or my property manager's handyperson) clean my gutters this weekend? Should I (or my property manager) book in that tradie to fix that maintenance issue?

Today, we remember.

Across Northern Region, SES staff and volunteers work alongside police in our communities — often during some of their most difficult days.

On National Police Remembrance Day, we pause to honour the police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and acknowledge the families, friends and colleagues who carry their memory.

To our Queensland Police Service colleagues, today we stand beside you in remembrance.

We remember their service. We honour their sacrifice. 💙

🧡 Building stronger communities starts with connection.

A productive Saturday for Community Engagement across the SES Northern Region, with volunteers from Ingham, Halifax, Townsville, Thuringowa, Bluewater, Magnetic Island, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Ravenswood and Richmond developing their skills and confidence.

The workshop explored the how and why of effective community engagement, while participants shared knowledge, ideas and experiences, strengthening connections across Groups and Units.

Successful engagement helps SES build community knowledge, capability and resilience before disasters occur.

A great day of learning, sharing and connection across Northern Region. 🧡💙
