Making sure your heating system is working and efficient is key to staying warm and healthy. Book a boiler service with a trusted engineer, who can also check your pipework and make sure the boiler pressure is right. You could also ‘bleed’ your radiators, which releases trapped air in the heating system and makes your radiators work more efficiently.

Staff, our best asset - a new report from Care & Repair Cymru offers a rare glimpse into the daily work of staff who help thousands of older and vulnerable people live safely and independently at home.

Based on 52 in-depth interviews with staff from across Wales — including caseworkers, administrators, handypersons and technical officers, the report captures the heart and soul of the organisation’s work. It reveals how trust, compassion, and teamwork underpin everything Care & Repair does.

We Need Your Help: Care & Repair Christmas Gift Box Appeal | Care & Repair We are inviting everyone to fill a shoebox with festive gifts and treats, to be delivered to an older person who may not have any friends or family around them this Christmas.

It's 72 days to Christmas! 🎁🎅

We’re delighted to announce the Care & Repair Christmas Gift Box Appeal is going ahead this year.

Christmas can be a lonely time for many older people who have no close family to visit over the festive period, we hope that having a gift to open may make a huge difference.

How you can help:

🎁Find a shoebox - wrap the box and lid separately in Christmas paper, or you can use a festive pre-printed box.

🎁Fill with gifts - there are suggestions on what you can include in your shoebox on our website.

🎁Attach a label marking whether your gift is for a male, female or generic.

❌Please don't include personal information about yourself.

Once your gift box is filled with gifts, you can drop it at your local Care & Repair. Please ensure your gift boxes are delivered by Friday 12 December 2025.
