The Wellspring provide essential support to people without a home or who are at risk of losing their home. Registered Charity number: 1157268

Your donations and support can help to build futures beyond homelessness. The Wellspring provides numerous essential services to Homeless and disadvantaged people in Stockport 365 days a year. Over 900 homeless people and rough sleepers have been supported into housing by staff at The Wellspring. Health services are provided at the project by Stockport PCT. Over 150 Volunteers work at the project.

British Summer Time has officially ended, which means winter is on the horizon❄️

The colder months are particularly difficult for people experiencing homelessness. This usually means we experience increased demand for our services at The Wellspring.

Our doors remain open 365 days a year, providing essential support to people who need it, whatever the season. But we can only continue this work thanks to the incredible generosity of our community.

Can you give your rucksack another chance?🎒

If you spent the summer travelling, camping or festival-ing, your used rucksack could make a real difference to somebody experiencing homelessness.

Our Rucksack Project gives you the chance to donate a usable rucksack and fill it with essential items that can be used straight away, such as a sleeping bag, warm clothes or a flask.

If you have items ready to donate, you can drop them off at The Wellspring, Harvey Street, Stockport, SK1 1YD between 8am to 4pm Monday-Friday. Saturday – Sunday 8am-2pm.

A royal visitor at The Wellspring! 👑💜

We were delighted to welcome Queen Maria, a member of the Royal Family of the Royal Sultanate of Magindanaw in the southern Philippines and founder and president of We Care for Humanity.

Queen Maria visited us alongside Councillor Wendy Meikle and Maureen Brindle from We Care for Humanity, as part of her journey across Europe supporting charities through the Global Santa initiative.

Queen Maria will be donating 36 Global Santa bags to The Wellspring, including 18 for men and 18 for women, filled with thermal clothing and socks to help keep the people we support warm as the weather gets colder.

It was lovely to welcome everyone to The Wellspring, show them around and talk about the work we do here in Stockport.

A huge thank you to Queen Maria and We Care for Humanity for choosing to include The Wellspring in the Global Santa initiative 💚

35 years of The Wellspring wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible community💜💚

Over the years, we’ve been supported by countless fundraisers, volunteers and donations from people across Stockport and Greater Manchester, and every single one has played a part in helping us continue our work.

That’s why we think a BIG THANK YOU is definitely in order!🙌

We love looking back at photos from this year’s fundraising events and seeing our wonderful community come together to support us at our Sleepout, Golf Day and the Great Manchester Run. It's a brilliant reminder of what makes The Wellspring so special.

Huge congratulations and thank you to everyone who took part in this year's Sleepout💜💚

Your support, enthusiasm and determination were amazing, and it was fantastic to see so many people come together to take on the challenge in support of The Wellspring.

Overall, we raised almost £14, 000 which is amazing! Every pound raised will help us continue supporting people experiencing homelessness and those at risk of losing their home across Stockport.

We look forward to seeing you this time next year to do it all again!

Our Men’s Mental Health Walking Group headed out to Marple Locks and Roman Lakes for their latest walk! 💚

The group gives the men a chance to get out, chat as they walk and enjoy each other’s company, with no pressure around what they do or don’t want to talk about.
