Commonwealth War Graves

Last Monday (27th March) 162 welcomed Maureen from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission who spent the evening speaking to our cadets and staff about the history of the CWGC, their mission and what they are currently doing to remember those who died as a result of conflict.
The information from tonight will go a long way for some of our cadets who have decided to assist with the war graves as a part of their DofE Volunteering in the local area.

A huge thank you to Maureen and the CWGC for spending the night with our cadets and sharing your knowledge with us.

To apply for a Gold space, you must meet the following criteria:

• Age: You must be at least 16 years old by the date the course starts.
• Prior Experience: You must have already completed the Silver Cyber Award OR the CyberFirst Defenders Course.

• August: 3 Courses available
• October: 1 Course available

Leanna works incredibly hard in her role as the Squadron Adjutant and has been essential in the planning and ex*****on of countless events since joining 162 Squadron, including the Greater Manchester Wing ATC Sunday parade.

Last week we celebrated the 85th anniversary of the Air Training Corps.

Last Sunday, 162 Squadron joined together with other units from across Greater Manchester Wing to parade through Stockport for ATC Sunday to celebrate this momentous occasion.

Thank you to all the Cadets, CFAV and Civ Comm that took part in every aspect of the day, representing RAFAC and making 162 proud.

A Royal tribute to 85 years of "Venture Adventure"! ✉️👑

We are immensely honoured to share this special message from our Royal Honorary Air Commandant, HRH The Princess of Wales, marking the 85th Anniversary of the Air Training Corps.

In her letter, Her Royal Highness recognises the tireless dedication of our adult volunteers and permanent staff since the Corps' formation in 1941. This Royal commendation is a testament to the spirit and standards upheld by every unit across the UK and overseas.
