His Excellency President William Ruto today inspected the Habaswein and Griftu Town Roads in Wajir County, projects being implemented by KURA. These roads will enhance connectivity, ease movement of people and goods, boost trade, improve access to essential services, and accelerate economic growth in the region.

Habaswein Town in Wajir County is experiencing improved connectivity and mobility thanks to ongoing infrastructure development. 7.5 km of urban roads have been completed, enhancing access within the town, easing movement for residents and businesses, and contributing to economic growth.

These improvements reflect continued efforts to strengthen urban road networks and improve the quality of life for communities across the region.

A delegation from the Public Private Partnerhip (PPP) Committee together with KURA has, over the past two days, been undertaking monitoring and inspection visits of the Annuity Lot 18 roads across Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma and Busia counties in the Western Region.
The roads, spanning a total of 35.3 kilometres, are being implemented under a Finance, Design, Build, Maintain and Transfer (FDBMT) arrangement and are currently in the Operations & Maintenance Phase.
This initiative forms part of the Government’s broader 10,000Km Roads Programme aimed at upgrading selected roads to Bitumen Standard, enhancing connectivity, easing mobility and supporting socio-economic growth across the region.
