The Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC) VII successfully conducted its 2nd Coordination Meeting for CY 2026 on May 21, 2026 via zoom.
The meeting served as a platform for member-agencies to discuss ongoing issues and concerns in the implementation of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA), as well as to share key updates and strengthen coordination in addressing matters involving Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL).
Representatives from partner agencies actively participated in the discussion, including the Commission on Human Rights VII, Department of Justice VII, Department of Social Welfare and Development VII, Parole and Probation Administration VII, Department of the Interior and Local Government VII, Police Regional Office VII, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Department of Health VII, and Children’s Legal Bureau.
Through strengthened collaboration among the dutybearers and member-agencies, RJJWC VII remains committed to promoting the rights, protection, and welfare of every child.

Just in time for the 20th Anniversary of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, the Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC) VII, led by Chairperson Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero, CESO III convened with the members of the Management Board of the Cebu City Operation Second Chance Center (CCOSCC) to discuss strategies for strengthening the center’s operations.
Through renewed collaboration and shared accountability, the committee and its partners reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring that every child in Cebu City receives responsive, restorative, and quality care that supports their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

The Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Committee (RJJWC) VII conducted an orientation on the Protocol in Handling Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and Children at Risk (CAR) with
Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Plan (CBJIP) to the thirty-five (35) barangays in the Municipality of Barili, Cebu on May 6 & 7, 2026 at Badian Spring Resort, Valencia, Bohol.
Organized by the Valencia Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the activity was attended by representatives from its thirty-five (35) barangays, strengthening their knowledge and capacity to respond appropriately to cases involving children.
Through this, RJJWC VII continues to empower barangays as frontline partners in ensuring the protection, rehabilitation, and reintegration of children—because every child in conflict with the law (CICL) deserves a second chance.

The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) joined the DSWD, in partnership with the Philippine Collective Media Corporation (PCMC) – DZMM, at the Serbisyo Caravan in Barangay Silangan, Quezon City, on March 6, reaching over 300 senior citizens and parents.
Through its information booth, JJWC shared important information on children in conflict with the law (CICL) and children at risk (CAR), as well as the Juvenile Justice Welfare Act (JJWA).
