The Department of Energy (DOE), through its Mindanao Field Office (MFO), met with officials of Republic Gas Corporation (REGASCO), led by President Arnel U. Ty, to discuss LPG industry operations in Mindanao and strengthen coordination on regulatory compliance and safety standards.

During the meeting, DOE-MFO provided updates on its monitoring and enforcement efforts under Republic Act No. 11592, or the LPG Industry Regulation Act, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR). Discussions also covered industry concerns, operational challenges, and measures to address non-compliance and unsafe practices in the distribution and sale of LPG.

The DOE continues to engage LPG industry stakeholders to strengthen regulatory enforcement, promote responsible business practices, and ensure that LPG products meet established safety standards, safeguarding consumer welfare and public safety across Mindanao.
