A significant milestone in regional collaboration was marked on May 13, 2026, as the Colombo Plan Staff College and SEAMEO INNOTECH formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), led by CPSC Director General Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar Dhameja and SEAMEO INNOTECH Centre Director Dr. Majah-Leah V. Ravago.

The partnership marks another chapter for CPSC and SEAMEO INNOTECH, paving the way for joint initiatives in training programs, research and innovation, quality assurance, and stronger institutional linkages to advance educational excellence across the region.

A recent study by the Colombo Plan Staff College explores the extent of green skills integration using a descriptive-exploratory design and survey data from TVET professionals who participated in a regional program in Thailand.

While progress is evident in areas such as green campus initiatives, curriculum integration, and sustainability practices, gaps remain in circular economy skills, digital-green competencies, and applied green innovation. The study also identifies key challenges, which further underscore the need for stronger collaboration and a more integrated ecosystem approach.

The country is stepping up efforts to modernize its TVET sector using ICT tools and aligning it with labour market demands. A specialized training is underway in Thimphu to reduce curriculum development time, and equip students with the skills needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving workforce.

In a step toward future-ready TVET systems, the Colombo Plan Staff College and the Department of Workforce Planning and Skills Development, Bhutan jointly conducted the In-Country Program on "Innovation in Curriculum Development Using ICT Tools" from April 6 to 11, 2026, at Hotel Mayto, Langjophakha, Thimphu, Bhutan.

The program brought together 29 TVET professionals from across Bhutan to strengthen their capacities in developing industry-aligned, outcome-based, and ICT-integrated curricula. Through thematic sessions, group work activities, and hands-on exercises, participants explored innovative approaches to curriculum design, assessment, and instructional methodologies.

Anchored in Bhutan’s vision for a future-ready workforce, this initiative reinforces ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality and relevance of TVET, equipping learners with the competencies needed in the evolving workforce.

As part of the ongoing Customized Program on “Advanced TVET Excellence for Bangladesh: Enhancing Skills, Quality & Industry Linkages for Mid-Level Technical Personnel”, a delegation from Bangladesh’s Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP) visited the TESDA Women's Center (TWC), an APACC Platinum Awardee institution.

The delegation was honored by the presence of H.E. Mohammad Sarwar Mahmood, ndc, Ambassador of the Embassy of Bangladesh in the Philippines, along with Mr. Shah Md. Ashraful Alam Mohon, First Secretary of the Mission. They were joined and warmly welcomed by the CPSC Director General, Prof. (Dr.) Suresh K. Dhameja, and Faculty Specialist Prof. Naeem Yaqoob.

The study visit highlighted good practices in TWC’s skills training, institutional excellence, and TVET innovation aligned with regional quality assurance standards under APACC.
