The BOSH for SO1 is an 8-hour OSH orientation designed to impart knowledge and skills on basic concepts and principles of occupational safety and health to enable potential safety officers (SO1 certification) to implement their respective company's/agency's safety and health programs in the workplace.

Barangay health workers (BHWs) will gain access to skills training and competency assessment to strengthen their capabilities, while opening opportunities for livelihood, additional income, and economic advancement.

Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on 29 October 2026 at the TESDA Central Office in Taguig City, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), National Public Workers Congress (PUBLIK), and Malayang Kalipunan ng Barangay Health Workers sa Pilipinas (Maka-BHW Pilipinas-PUBLIK) formalized a partnership to help BHWs strengthen their skills and competencies, access capacity-building programs, and explore livelihood opportunities for improved economic well-being.

This Training is designed to impart knowledge and skills on basic concepts and principles of occupational safety and health to enable potential safety officers (SO1-certification) to implement their respective company's safety and health program pursuant to R.A. 11058 and DOLE D.O. 252-25.
Additionally, since the free BOSH training is an online course, interested parties undertake the responsibility of securing a stable internet connection for the entire duration of the training. A speed test of 3 Mbps (up/down) is recommended.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), through its Institute for Labor Studies - DOLE, presented research-based policy recommendations at the 15th DOLE Research Conference to help strengthen labor policies and programs that promote decent work, expand employment opportunities, protect workers’ rights, and advance labor justice.

The two-day conference, held under the theme, “Shaping Human-Centric Policies Together Toward a Stronger Labor Market and Future-Ready Upper-Middle-Income Economy,” brought together researchers, policymakers, program managers, tripartite partners, and academic institutions to discuss how the research findings can inform more responsive and effective policies and programs on 27–28 October 2026 in Intramuros, Manila.
