MANILA - The National Authority for Child Care (NACC) in partnership with All Godโs Children International (AGCI) - Philippines conducted the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Regional Leadership Workshop for social workers from 16 local government units (LGUs) in the NCR and the NACCโs Regional Alternative Child Care Office - NCR (RACCO-NCR) last May 19 to 21 at the Alino Hotel, Quezon City.
The workshop centered on TBRI, a trauma-informed approach that helps individuals better understand the effects of relational trauma and foster healthy, trusting, and nurturing relationships. Through lectures, interactive activities, and breakout sessions, some 22 child welfare professionals gained practical strategies to support healing, emotional regulation, and positive behavior through the TBRI Connecting, Empowering, and Correcting Principles and their corresponding strategies.
In her message, NACC Undersecretary Janella Ejercito Estrada emphasized the importance of compassionate and responsive care for individuals who have experienced trauma.
โThe work we do for children is never easy, but it is always meaningful. Every effort we make today can and will change the course of a childโs future tomorrow for the better,โ Estrada said.
The Phase 3 of the NACC-AGCI partnership will focus on the rollout of a 10-week introductory TBRI course for 5 domestic adoptive parents and 5 foster families from RACCO NCR beginning July 2026.
The initiative also supports the development of improved preparation modules for adoptive and foster placements anchored on the TBRI approach.
