Welcome to the official page of the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS)!

We are the Digital and Intelligence Service, the fourth service of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) officially inaugurated on 28 Oct 2022. The Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) will defend and dominate in the Digital Domain. As part of an integrated SAF, the DIS will enhance Singapore's security, from peace to war.

🎓 Congratulations to our Guardians on completing the Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff College (GKS CSC) Command and Staff Course! 🎉

Through the course, our Guardians sharpened their leadership skills, gained deeper insights into the evolving security landscape, and strengthened their ability to navigate complex operational challenges.

Armed with fresh perspectives and knowledge, they are ready to take on greater responsibilities and lead the DIS and SAF into the future! 🫡

Last evening, ME5 Shirley Tan handed over her appointment as ChiefX Electronic Protection Group (EPG) to ME4 Yeo Wee Kwang, in a ceremony witnessed by our Commander EPG, COL Lee Hsiang Wei.

We extend our appreciation to ME5 Tan for her dedicated leadership and steadfast commitment to EPG. We also congratulate ME4 Yeo on his appointment and wish him every success in his new role.

🛡️ Behind every mission is a commitment to keeping our Guardians safe.

Last week, the DIS welcomed members of the 4th External Review Panel on SAF Safety (ERPSS) to the SAF Mapping Unit (SAFMU).

Through a briefing on the DIS and a firsthand look at our Guardians’ work at SAFMU, the panel gained deeper insights into the DIS’s roles and responsibilities.

The visit also offered a closer look at the DIS’s safety and health systems and culture, supporting ongoing efforts to build a safer and healthier environment for our Guardians.

As the haze situation develops, the SAF continues to carry out essential operations to keep Singapore safe.

We are closely monitoring air quality and adjusting training and outdoor activities based on the 24-hour PSI and 1-hour PM2.5 readings to minimise our personnel's exposure to the haze. Where appropriate, activities will be rescheduled or moved indoors, while maintaining operational readiness.

We understand that the haze can be worrying for families, especially when their loved ones are undergoing training or carrying out duties outdoors. The health and safety of our service personnel remain a priority, and our commanders will continue to monitor conditions closely and take appropriate precautions to look after our people.

At this year’s Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW), Commander Defence Cyber Command / Defence Cyber Chief, BG Clarence Cai, joined industry experts on the panel, “From Signal to Action: Making Threat Intelligence Count at the Leadership Level”.

He highlighted the importance of Advanced Persistent Defence, where cyber defenders continuously identify vulnerabilities, anticipate emerging threats and take proactive action to strengthen cyber resilience.

BG Cai also emphasised the need to translate cyber threat intelligence into timely and effective action, while fostering closer collaboration across organisations to strengthen our collective cyber defence.

Some connections matter more than others.

As a Digital & Intelligence Systems Engineer specialising in Satellite Communications, he works behind the scenes to keep critical systems operational, secure and ready to support the SAF across different operational environments.

But being a DISE goes beyond maintaining systems. It means continually building technical expertise, working alongside people from across the four Services, taking on new challenges and finding opportunities to grow both professionally and personally.

For him, that journey has been one of continuous learning, balancing his responsibilities in the DIS while pursuing a part-time degree, with the support of his superiors.

Yesterday, Minister of State for Defence Mr Desmond Choo 朱倍庆 visited our Digital Ops-Tech Centre (DOTC) to learn how digital solutions are developed to strengthen the SAF’s operations and training.

During the visit, he viewed live demonstrations of DOTC’s in-house digital solutions and interacted with Regulars, DXOs, NSFs and NSmen who work together with operators to deliver practical solutions to enhance the SAF operations.

Through innovation and collaboration, DOTC continues to push boundaries in digitalisation to support the SAF’s mission.

Last night, 130 SAF leaders graduated from the 18/26 Joint Leadership Course (JLC), graced by our Chief of the Digital and Intelligence Service, MG Lee Yi-Jin.

The 15-week course aims to develop SAF Warrant Officers and Military Experts into competent leaders and trainers, while providing opportunities for cross-Service interactions to better understand one another’s roles and capabilities.

Congratulations to all our JLC graduates!
