High Commissioner Marianne Young, joined by Defence Attaché Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Kaulback, met with Tanzanian Minister of Defence and National Service, Dr.
Rhimo Simeon Nyansaho.
The conversation focused on the future of the UK-TZ Defence partnership.
The High Commissioner also met with Minister of State, Investment and Planning, Hon. Kitila Mkumbo to reflect on the two-year anniversary of the UK-TZ Mutual Prosperity Partnership 🤝

Today, the British High Commission in Tanzania alongside our partners, the UK–Tanzania Green Growth Facility implemented by Palladium, convened exporters, regulators, logistics providers and technical experts in Arusha for the UK–Tanzania Trade Roadshow focused on opportunities under the UK’s Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS).
Throughout the day, participants heard from speakers and representatives across government, industry and the private sector on practical aspects of accessing the UK market, including customs procedures, standards and certification, logistics and freight, export readiness and market access requirements.
Sessions featured contributions from organisations including the TPHPA, TAHA Fresh Logistics, Blue Axis, Green Cert Ltd and the UK–Tanzania Green Growth Facility, alongside exporters and industry stakeholders participating in discussions throughout the day.
The Roadshow concluded with a roundtable discussion allowing exporters and stakeholders to share experiences, challenges and opportunities across the agricultural export sector.

Our Deputy High Commissioner Sally Hedley officially launched the Social Welfare Desk in Arusha, a UK 🇬🇧 supported initiative delivered in partnership with and the 🇹🇿 Government. The launch marked the 14th desk nationwide, strengthening protection and coordinated social welfare services for vulnerable children, women, persons with disabilities and other at-risk groups!
