We recently had the opportunity to train Aurora Public Schools Campus Safety Officers (CSOs) on supporting students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Together, we explored who students with IDD are, the special education process, and how shifting our understanding of trauma and behavior can lead to more supportive responses. We're grateful for the opportunity to partner with APS and help build safer, more inclusive school environments for all students. We're excited to continue this work through the North Aurora Transforming Safety Grant, and we look forward to many more conversations ahead!
