A sham marriage, fabricated evidence, and false statements—all part of an alleged scheme to exploit our immigration system.
A federal grand jury indicted U.S. citizen Jingming Chen for allegedly accepting payment to enter a fraudulent marriage to help a co-conspirator obtain a Green Card.
USCIS partnered with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to investigate the scheme. Marriage fraud is a federal crime, and Chen faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services assisted with the investigation that resulted in charges against Jingming Chen, 31 of Quincy, Massachusetts, for conspiracy to commit marriage fraud and immigration document fraud.
