Today we remember Retired Fire Marshal Dave Cherrone

Dave’s impact on our department, community, and the fire service was extraordinary. There was only one Fire Marshal Cherrone, and we were fortunate to have known and worked alongside him.

📅 Memorial Service: 2 PM (immediately following visitation)

I share my prayers for healing and courage in the days ahead for Fire Marshall Cherrone’s family and friends, as well as prayers of gratitude and thanksgiving for his 50 years of dedication to the wellbeing and safety of our community.

It is with profound sadness that Clay Fire announces the sudden and unexpected passing of our dear friend and colleague, Retired Fire Marshal Dave Cherrone.

Dave dedicated more than 50 years of his life to serving our community, truly embodying the Clay Fire mission “To Help Others” in every way. His unwavering dedication, leadership, and kindness touched countless lives. The legacy he leaves within Clay Fire, across our community, and throughout the fire service will never be forgotten.

Arrangements for Fire Marshal Cherrone’s services have not yet been finalized. We will share details with the community as soon as they are available.

In the meantime, we ask that you keep Dave’s family, friends, and all who loved him in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
