In the U.S., about 3,400 infants die each year from sudden unexpected infant deaths (SUID). In Colorado alone, around 50 infants die each year from sleep-related causes. Many of these tragedies are preventable.

Happy National Disability Employment Awareness Month and a special shout-out to the Colorado Division of Regional Centers for all of the amazing work you do in providing employment training and opportunities to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

DRC Directors Jodi Merrill and Kodjo Akakpo represented the Division at Colorado's National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) event at the Capitol on Oct. 21.

The event served as a celebration of the workforce contributions made by individuals with disabilities and honored employers and community partners who champion inclusive employment opportunities.
