Voting in Person Voter identification requirements for Delaware voters in primary, general, and special elections:

When you arrive to vote at an early voting site in the county in which you live during the early voting period or at your assigned polling place on Election Day, the election officer at the check in table will ask you for ID.

You only need to present one current and valid ID. The ID you provide can include one of the following that shows your name and residential address, a driver's license or state ID, mailing from the Department of Elections, current utility bill, bank statement, lease or deed, vehicle registration or title, government mailings, or other government documentation.

The election officer will search for your name in the poll book. If your name is listed, you will sign the poll book screen. The election officer will give you an activation card and direct you to the voting machine area to complete the next steps of the voting process.

If your name is not listed in the poll book or if you need to make any updates, you will be sent to the help desk to verify your information and eligibility. For name and address changes, you'll need to present a current, valid ID that shows your name and residential address. Election officers will verify your district with your county elections office. After your eligibility is confirmed, an election officer will give you an activation card and direct you to the voting machine area to complete the next steps of the voting process.

If you do not have identification when you arrive to vote in a primary, general, or special election and are listed correctly in the poll book, you will be asked to complete an Affidavit of Affirmation of Voter Identity. All voters must show reasonable proof of identity or complete an Affidavit of Affirmation of Voter Identity to affirm their identity before they can vote.

For more information about voting in primary, general and special elections, contact the Department of Elections office for the county in which you live or visit, https://elections.delaware.gov.
